Worst Product Placement for The Week

Published on February 23, 2007 by   ·   No Comments

This is not really the worst placement of the week … as it was a good idea for Microsoft to integrate their product into Apprentice. Apprentice viewers are probably their target demographic … a combination of ad executive’s looking for their friends on camera and us regular tv folks. Before I get a little bit nasty … LiveMeeting WOULD have been a perfect integration .. had they actually utilized it on camera. Think about it for a moment … the team’s are only made up of 2 people each .. it would have been perfect if they collaberated on their task via LiveMeeting .. that would have made complete sense and would have sold the product. Instead .. the teams made incredibly lame commercials. As bad as the commercials were, they were much better than Microsoft’s own spot which ran during the show. Here’s where I get a bit nasty … Donald .. you are great on camera .. but the scripted stuff has to go!! When Trump meets up with the Microsoft ‘executives’ (for which we never learn their last names nor their titles) his horrible line is: ‘I use your products and they always work’ It was just so ‘canned’ .. so bad. It’s the type of line that turns folks off to Reality TV.
