Worst Product Placement for The Week 2

Published on February 28, 2007 by   ·   No Comments

I loved the ‘Hollywood Red Carpet’ concept, but the Smirnoff intregration into the 2 hour finale of Nip Tuck was way off! I know that a lot of you will think I am crazy .. espcially when you look @ these statistics:

  • The most adult viewers for a single telecast on FX with 3.9 million viewers 18-49
  • 5.7 million total viewers

Here’s my major problem – the mySpace play. During the program, there were several references and commercials advertising the Carver’s personal mySpace account … the only problem is that mySpace is a community devoted to the 30 and under crowd and as most on the Internet know .. it is primarily comprised of young kids in the 16 – 18 year old demo. A 16 year old kid is NOT the demo that Smirnoff wants to hit and having worked with a similar brand … I am curious if they knew about the mySpace integration going into the deal. On a personal note … isn’t the Carver character someone you would want your kids to avoid??
