Guitar Hero Product Placement

Published on May 24, 2008 by   ·   No Comments

Guitar Hero spent their budget wisely by betting on Hollywood’s Brett Ratner‘s, 30-second TV spots featuring American Idol finalists David Cook and David Archuleta channeling Tom Cruise’s underpants dance from Risky Business all while lip-syncing Bob Seger’s "Old Time Rock and Roll."

With more than 14 million games sold worldwide since its introduction in 2005, Guitar Here is a billion dollar video game franchise for Activision.  They spent $12 million in 2007 and $6 million in the Q1 2008, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
