McDonalds strengthens Value Message

McDonaldsWith the ongoing rise in fuel prices, consumers are saving precious dollars off the grocery list to make room for the car budget. Thats why McDonalds is reinforcing the value message in their advertisements.

It is reported by Ad Week that, Beginning Sept. 1, McDonalds will debut five new ads. The first of the spots, Hip Pocket, plays up the value factor with phrases like, Fresh flavor with change to spare. I do love the sound of a tasty deal.

This marketing angle is not limited to the Golden Arches. American burger chain Burger King is also set to release a series of ads that emphasize the Value for money angle.

These ads come at a time when consumers need the reassurance. With no signs of the fuel price hikes stopping, fast food chains need to promote savings with their products. Fast food chains need to convince the consumer that they wont walk out of their restaurants with empty pockets. Consumers want value for money, as well as a couple of bucks to spare for fuel.
