Former NFL rookie of the year Eddie George will be the celebrity judge for Tostitos promotional contest titled Beat My Tailgate.
The contest invites consumers to submit their tailgate stories online. George, along with a panel of judges, will select five finalists based on creativity, team pride, theme and presentation. The winner will receive a VIP tailgating experience and a trip to the 38th annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
The campaign is part of Frito-Lays (owner of Tostitos) effort to increase their appeal to the sporty consumer. The company spent $47 million in 2007 to advertise Tostitos. This year, theyve a long way to go before they reach that mark. Through June 2008, Frito-Lay has just spent $26 million for the tasty tortilla.
