Turner Sports has recently signed a deal with Blackberry, which makes the wireless handheld phone distributor the official presenting sponsor of TBS? coverage of Major League Baseball American and National League Division Series. Coverage begins on Wednesday (October 1).
Along with the coverage comes an on-air promo starring Ernie Johnson ?the host of the MLB studio show, as well as other sports shows. Johnson will be joined by Cal Ripken, Dennis Eckersley, and Curtis Granderson. It will air during the telecast of the American League Championship Series. During the show, Johnson will invite fans to correspond with him through email, which he will check through a Blackberry. The hosts will answer selected questions on the TBS Hot Corner at MLB.com.
In addition to Blackberry, Turner Sports also partnered with Sharp Electronics to promote energy conservation. These awareness advertisements will air during Turner?s coverage of the ALCS Division Series. Other sponsors include: Nilon, Warner Bros., Bank of America, DHL, Holiday Inn, and Verizon, among others.
