Kid Rock now available Rhapsody

Published on October 4, 2008 by   ·   No Comments

Kid Rock has sold his entire song catalog to Rhapsody?a music downloading site, which is a joint venture between MTV and Real Networks. Kid Rock albums can now be streamed and downloaded from the website.

This was not an easy negotiation between the website and the artist. Prior to this, the Detroit native refused to sell his songs online. Before the rocker agreed, Rhapsody had to create a special stipulation: Kid Rock?s songs can only be downloaded as complete albums, not as individual tracks.

In addition to that, Rhapsody also promised Kid Rock (a.k.a. Bob Ritchie) promotional ads from partners Verizon Wireless and MTV. As asserted by the Rhapsody?s VP, Nathan Smith, ?We?re here to get stuff online and figure ways to work with labels and artists that are mutually beneficial.?
