The Avengers to be launched by Marvel branded animation studio

While Marvel Entertainment is getting set to launch the much anticipated movie releases of Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America, Marvel Animation will be giving them promotional support in form of a new animated series titled ?The Avengers: Earth?s Mightiest Heroes?.

The Production Details

Film Roman, the company behind ?The Simpsons,? has been selected to produce 26 episodes for Marvel Studios. The series is due on 2011, just in time to market The Avengers movie.

Ciro Nieli, the man behind Teen Titans, will be heading the production team. The story will be edited by Christopher Yost, who bought us the cartoon stories for Iron Man and Fantastic Four.

The Avengers is based on a legendary comic-book series. Much like the Justice League, it features several heroes in one team, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Giant Man, and the Wasp.  

Marvel Animation is also working on other cartoon series, i.e. Wolverine and the X-Men, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, and Marvel Super Hero Squad and the Black Panther. Plus the studio has released two direct-to-DVD cartoon movies.
