Sony Pictures Entertainment is reorganizing Crackle. The studio has enhanced its online video hub with new management, headquarters, and they also added downloadable full-length TV shows, as well as movies.
Sony acquired Crackle in 2006. From then on, the company has slowly developed the website. Newly appointed manager Eric Berger will be tasked to continue Crackle?s development. Berger explains, ?What we want to do with Crackle is make it a next-generation TV network.?
In keeping with this vision, Crackle has a steady supply of original shows, and a huge library of films, including Jerry Maguire and Ghostbusters. But it has an advantage over traditional networks: interactive features.
Crackle presents the viewers with some content extras that allow them to interact with other viewers on the Web. If they can develop this angle and advertise to the right market, the future prospects of the company will look very bright.
