Macy?s will be launching the its new ?Believe? campaign to meet the holiday shoppers.
The campaign was inspired by the famous ?Yes, Virginia? letter that was published by the New York Sun in 1987, when a little girl wrote to a newspaper asking ?is Santa Claus is real?? The newspaper journalist Francis Church fondly responded, saying ?Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.?
The famous retail chain will kick off the holiday campaign on November 9. To boost campaign appeal on TV, Macy?s contracted the efforts of an all-star cast of endorsers. The star-studded list features Jessica Simpson, Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, and Carlos Santana.
As a part of the campaign, Macy?s outlets will be posting ?Believe Stations?, which will receive letters from consumers who will be replicating the ?Yes, Virginia? letter. All posts will have a ?Believe Meter? to measure the holiday cheer. The store will also pledge $1 per letter sent to the ?Make a wish foundation??an organization that grants the wishes of critically ill children.
