For Adidas? 60th anniversary, the apparel maker is throwing a party, and the center piece will be Adidas Originals.
The German apparel manufacturer will be celebrating its lifestyle brand with its first US TV advertising campaign. The new 30-second Adidas TV spot features a host of notable celebrities: DMC, Method Man, David Beckham, Kevin Garnett, among others.
The ad, which will debut this week, shows the star-studded group in a party where they sport Adidas Originals (shoes, shirts, and apparel). The spot is full of compelling camera angles of partying endorsers.
?The overarching message is, ?It?s a celebration,??described Simon Atkins, director of U.S. marketing for Adidas. ?It’s a house party and everyone’s invited.?
At this point, brands are forecasting a decrease in sales. And the brands need a boost to take them through the looming financial crisis. Atkins attests, ?we?re at a point where it was the right time to reintroduce it [Adidas Originals] and raise the volume.?
