CNN has re-signed some of its major sponsors to back its multiplatform initiative ?CNN Heroes,? the sponsors include Johnson & Johnson, Zurich, Proctor & Gamble, and Subaru. CNN Heroes will highlight ordinary citizens who perform extraordinary deeds.
The four sponsors will also presenting sponsors of the second annual CNN awards and the on-air program titled ?CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute? hosted by Anderson Cooper.
The sponsorship deal includes customized billboards, tagged time-ins on CNN Networks, and co-branded banners on the CNN Web site. The sponsors will craft their own cause-oriented marketing campaigns; this includes P&G?s Children?s Safe Water program and J&J?s Campaign for nursing.
?CNN Heroes is the type of programming that advertisers have come to expect from CNN and feel good about attaching their brands to,? Greg D?Alba, executive VP and chief operating officer of CNN Ad Sales, mentioned in a statement. D?Alba continued, ?We?re attracting advertisers for opportunities like Heroes, and other initiatives like Impact Your World, because our integrated sponsorship opportunities surrounding these programs provide clients the perfect forum to garner not only awareness for their brands, but to emphasize some of their lesser-known pro-social efforts.?
