Jay Leno Show branded entertainment

Published on December 13, 2008 by   ·   No Comments

NBC is giving Jay Leno a new show tentatively titled ?The Jay Leno Show.? Unlike his previous TV program, this show is more than a talk show; it?s also a scripted comedy show. But, just like ?The Tonight Show? this program will contain branded content.

According to Tim Spengler?a US president from media agency Initiative?the new Leno show is promising, because it has the ability to integrate branded products into content.

If you look at The Tonight Show?s tie-ins, you?d be impressed by the brands they?ve managed to partner with. The list includes: Alpo, Polaroid, Dockers, Garmin, and Klondike.

?We look forward to sitting down [with NBC executives]? Mr. Spengler mentioned, ?and finding smart ways to elevate sponsor brands.? Among the top choices for involved brands are networks and stations that have strong ties with NBC.

Brad Gate, senior VP of research for Horizon Media, said that the show?s potential is limitless. Gate says, ?I could see interstitials with local news personalities. What Oprah Winfrey does at 4 o?clock, Jay Leno could do at 10 o?clock.?
