The Open Mobile Video Coalition (OMVC), with the help of consumer electronics manufacturers, will be launching ?Mobile DTV: Never Miss A Minute??a new media platform that will broadcast TV quality simulcast to next-generation mobile and portable devices. The network will also feature limitless interactive interfaces and application opportunities.

Mobile DTV will give improved picture quality for an extensive list of local content. OMVC said that today?s consumers are always on the move, and they want their information on-the-go. And with this network, consumers no longer have to turn on a TV or man a computer to get their information. It literally allows them to ?Never Miss A Minute.? OMVC will be culminating its 12-month effort during a series of show-floor exhibits.

The organization has more than 800 broadcasters that are aiming to accelerate the development of mobile digital television in the United States. Helping in this development are some major electronic companies that will provide branded entertainment: LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics and Harris Corporation.
