Coke Zero Product Placement at the Super Bowl

Published on January 29, 2009 by   ·   No Comments

Coke Zero is going retro for its advertisement on the upcoming Super Bowl. The zero-calorie cola is remaking the 1980s commercial titled ?Mean Joe Greene.?

The new ad was created by Crispin Porter + Bogusky. It is based on the old ad, but it casts Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu in the place of Greene.

In the ad, a young fan follows an injured Polamalu to the locker room and offers him a bottle of Coke Zero. The spot then has an undisclosed twist, which will show viewers ?Real Coke taste and zero calories? said Coca-Cola spokespersons.

The original ad is one of the most famous commercials of TV history. ?I was blown away when they asked me to be in this new spot,? commented Polamalu in a statement. ?I think people will get a kick out of the intensity I display to get my hands on the real Coke taste of Coke Zero.?
