Timberland, the footwear and apparel manufacturer, will be hosting a series of outdoor, environment-friendly events in 10 cities in the US as part of a sponsorship deal for next month?s Green Apple Festival.

The festival is an annual music and Earth Day awareness event that began in New York. Now in its third year, the festival now has more participating cities like Boston, Denver, Washington D.C., Atlanta, and many others. Timberland has tailored the events and festivities to fit each city?s culture.

To support the festival, the company is launching an online sweepstakes contest titled ?Earthkeeper Contest,? which kicks off next week. The grand prize is a free eco-tour of the forests of Darwin in Australia. The prize will be awarded to the top two entries, submitted by participants, on their efforts to promote environmental sustainability.

Timberland will also use the contest to market its Earthkeepers product line.
