Authentic Entertainment, Inc. has launched a new division that will focus on syndication of its library titles and generating new revenues in the digital and branded entertainment content markets worldwide. Authentic Digital was founded and is overseen by veteran media executive Joe Cantwell, who serves as Managing Director of the unit. Cantwell is based in Washington, D.C. and will maintain satellite operations in Authentic’s Burbank headquarters.

Authentic Entertainment is best known for producing some of cable television’s most popular reality series, including "Ace of Cakes" for Food Network, "Flipping Out" for Bravo, "Cities of the Underworld" for History and "Toddlers & Tiaras" and "My First Home" for TLC. Authentic currently has nine series on air with nine different networks, including "Lock and Load" for Showtime, and is in production on new series and specials for Animal Planet, Discovery, Food Network and Oxygen. "You’re Wearing That?!," which is scheduled to air on WE tv in 2010, represents a new business model for Authentic. The show is a co-production between WE tv, Alchemy and Authentic, with the three companies dividing rights according to each of their primary territories and platforms.

In addition to its non-fiction TV production work, Authentic produced "Grass Roots," a documentary film that premiered at the 2008 ACE Film Festival and is now entering the international TV, home video and digital markets. And, on behalf of JWT and client the U.S. Marine Corps, Authentic produced "Life As A Marine," a short film chronicling the real-life experiences of new recruits as well as veterans serving all over the world. The film is used as a recruiting tool at Corps events and stations, online at www.marines.com, and was also used in two broadcast TV commercials.
