Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, a developer of social networking and microblogging tools, denied the speculation that Twitter is working on a branded TV show. However, the founders left the door open for a range of TV possibilities for the famed Website.
According to Variety, Twitter was working on a deal with Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment to produce an unscripted reality show that puts ?ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format.?
This led to several pubs speculating about what a Twitter-branded show would look like.
While TV shows for Twitter will have to wait, the microblogging service is already being used by numerous TV shows as a supplementary feature. Shows on CNN, like Larry King Live, use viewer Twitter status messages to question guests.
Such TV integrations are bound to work. And it makes a lot of sense. It will offer consumers and interactive platform to voice questions about the integrated show.
