Bravo?s Top Chef is a mix of food, drama, and product placement. The show has several affiliates, including General Electric, Whole Foods, and Glad.
The last season was set in New York and it featured promotions of local products. In one episode, contestants waited in the ?stew room? to confront the judges. They were served bottles Brooklyn beer. For this season, the show moved Las Vegas where the stew room will have product placements of Stone beer.
?This past year we were approached by the folks at Top Chef when they were shooting Top Chef Masters in Los Angeles,? said Chris Cochran, the marketing coordinator of Stone Beer. ?Someone on the crew worked at a bar in New York City called Blind Tiger Ale House was familiar with our beers, and asked us if we could supply them with beer. A total no-brainer.?
This is not the first time that Stone Beer has been featured in a product placement. The product has also had appearances in shows like Weeds and West Wing. Not to mention, it was also featured in the movie Old School.
