Zvents Enhances Its National Entertainment Guide Network With Facebook Social Plugins

Published on May 13, 2010 by   ·   No Comments

Zvents, the leading producer of entertainment guides online, announced today the integration of Facebook’s recently released social plug-ins across their network of 290 local media websites. These new social networking options allow users to personalize their experience on the Zvents Network and share, like and recommend things to do with their Facebook friends and, in turn, see what their friends like, recommend and share about things they want to do.

"We’re excited to add these new enhanced social features," said Ethan Stock, CEO of Zvents. "They give users of the entertainment guides that Zvents powers a more personally relevant things to do discovery experience and make it even easier to get out to more local events and share the experience with friends."

The features introduced across Zvents include:

    * Like button: The Like button lets users share pages on Zvents to their Facebook news stream with one click. Users will have the option to like events, performers, venues, movies and restaurants — and will also be able to see what their friends like as well.
    * Activity stream: When users visit Zvents, a mini-Facebook newsfeed appears showing what their friends are doing on Zvents through likes and comments.
    * Recommendations: Gives users personalized suggestions for pages on Zvents they might like –displaying the top ‘likes’ on Zvents from all Facebook users as well as likes from your Facebook friends.

By implementing Facebook social plug-ins across a network of locally branded entertainment guides, Zvents becomes the first to bring powerful social tools to the hyperlocal event space for millions of users. To see the new integration in action, visit Zvents.com or any one of the sites powered by Zvents, including Boston.com, SFGate and GuideLive.com.
