Through the Memorial Day weekend, Shrek Forever After still retained the top spot in the box office. While Sex and the City 2 only ranked third, it still ranks first in terms of product placement.
The sequel has officially exceeded the number of product placements in the first film.
Yes, there are many product placements in the film. However, at the mean time, only a few have been confirmed paid appearances. And one of them is Mercedes Benz.
The German automaker was all over the sequel, it even occupied a lengthy sub-plot discussion about the Mercedes Maybach.
Of course, Hewlett-Packard also had a fair share of the spotlight. Before the film was even released, the movie?s shift from Mac to HP was the topic of discussion across cyberspace. Actress Sarah Jessica Parker (who plays Carrie Bradshaw) even served as the brand?s official endorser in television spots.
In the movie, though, some people say that Carrie still uses her Mac book. But it was clear that Samantha was using an HP.

I think Sex in the city, is a great franchise. I’m happy to see all these companies, and brands working together. I’m a high-end fashion designer, I do men’s made to measure custom suits. And, in this business, its not what you know. It’s who you know, building relationships, is the key!
I hope my brand, Amillion, will have product placement in a film one day.
