Hungarian network gets accused of unsanctioned product placement

Duna TV is being accused of taking product placement too far in its comedy series, ?Diplomatavad?sz? (Diplomat Hunter).

Product placement on television is allowed, but their promotions are prohibited by the National Radio and Television Board (ORTT).

In the series, the characters are always driving around using Audi and Volkswagen models. They are also show dining at prominently-branded restaurants. However, the brands say that they don?t have agreements with Duna TV.

The network says that the ORTT says that they have received no complaints, and their product placements do no fall under the jurisdiction of the National Media and Communications Authority.
