ConAgra Foods invests in online branded entertainment

ConAgra Foods Canada has teamed up with Fresh Baked Entertainment, a branded entertainment company, to create a new online series.

?Life Unjarred? began streaming last September 10. The series follows the life of Randy Matthews, a father who becomes a spokesperson for VH Sauces after his son uploads a comedic video on YouTube showing him cooking and using the sauces.

The series can be watched on LifeUnjarred.com. Its marketing is also supported by social media and additional videos.

The producers say that the series aims to show consumers how to cook simple and delicious meals for the entire family.

?We found [traditional media] wasn’t breaking through,? said Tony Angelucci, brand manager for Ontario-based ConAgra. ?We found that we really needed to engage with the consumer digitally more than in the past.?

Angelucci continued: ?The whole basic premise is that something funny is going to drive an emotional connection with our consumer.?
