Product placement still prohibited in Russia

Published on October 30, 2010 by   ·   No Comments

While product placement is an emerging trend in many countries, Russia refuses to give in.

The Moscow Arbitration Court of Appeal upheld a previous ruling, concerning a production company and its decision to feature product placements on its television show.

Central Partnerships teamed up with Sun Products to develop a product integration for the show Yermolovy.

The deal was forged in 2007, which involved a product placement in the show. However, Central Partnerships did not feature the product placement, prompting Sun Products to demand the fee they paid for the placement.

While Sun Products did have a valid point, product placement is prohibited in Russia. And, according to the Moscow Arbitration Court of Appeal, the 2007 agreement between the two companies are null and void.
