Morgan Spurlock’s new documentary takes a closer look at product placement

Director Morgan Spurlock believes that his upcoming documentary was simply a stroke of genius.

The director, who brought us Super Size Me, convinced 15 companies to pay $1.5 million to fund his film, which centers on corporate marketing, product placement, and brand integration.

The film follows Spurlock as he pitches his film to different companies, which exposes advertising in movies and television shows.

Some companies end up joining Spurlock’s film. He even featured one of the participating brands in the title: “POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold”.

Spurlock says that he got the idea when he saw how blatant product placements are on movies and television these days.
