In the past months, Chrysler has been investing heavily in product placement.
Most recently, the Dodge Charger can be seen in a new viral video, “GTA IV – Hard Charger: Wide Open.” The 13-minute, fan-made video is based on the renowned driving video game, Grand Theft Auto. Niko, the protagonist, drives a Dodge Charger around town.
So far, the video has garnered around 200,000 views; without any dislikes.
As of press time, Chrysler has not released any comments about the product placement. The marketing momentum could help the sales of Dodge’s new 2011 Charger model, which is an integration of throw-back design and innovative engine technologies.
The Charger will also be appearing on the latest sequel of the Fast and the Furious.
