Butterfinger, the famous candy brand, is officially jumping on the branded entertainment bandwagon.

In its first branded entertainment project, the brand has contracted Rob Lowe to direct a 25-minute horror film titled “Butterfinger the 13th.” The video will debut during the Halloween season.

“Butterfinger’s history with irreverent comedy drew me to this really unique, fun project,” explained Lowe in a press release. “As an artist, I get to explore the world of horror movie-making with a comedic twist. It’s going to be a psychological thriller that will leave you laughing.”

The short film will be integrated with Butterfinger’s marketing tools, making them more appealing to consumers.

“With Rob Lowe behind the camera for this humorously horrific masterpiece, Butterfinger the 13th is sure to be a hit, and we can’t wait for Butterfinger fans everywhere to be scared funny,” said Tricia Bowles, the spokesperson for the brand.

You can find out more details about the project at Butterfinger’s Facebook page.
