Sina Weibo, a Chinese micro-blogging site that’s similar to Twitter, has become a bankable platform for advertisers. With more than 140 million subscribers, it comes as no surprise.

According to reports, advertisers have been offering tons of money to celebrities to insert product placements in their posts. In fact, the offers start at around $15,000 a post.

Ye Feng, a marketing professor in Beijing, was offered a deal that seemed unbelievable. Sources say that Feng includes product placements in 50% of his posts, he could make around $3,000 a day. To think he’s just a marketing professor.

Experts forecast Sina Weibo to grow in the next years. In the process, its advertising rates will likely increase as well.
