GM product placement in Cannonball Run remake

Published on October 20, 2011 by   ·   No Comments

General Motors is planning to bankroll a remake of the classic, The Cannonball Run.

The movie will be a canvas for product placements for GM.

While producers have been booked for the project, it’s still evolving. However, one thing’s for sure, it’ll be loaded with GM’s newest cars. And this could work against the creative integrity of the movie.

Speculators are suggesting that the government-owned automaker may make the movie a two-hour commercial for its newest models.

Guy Ritchie, the director of the movie, says that he plans to shoot the film somewhere in Europe.
