Microsoft Product Placement in Hawaii 5-0

Published on October 25, 2011 by   ·   No Comments

How do cops in Hawaii connect and investigate? Easy. They do it through Microsoft.

Through its seasons, cops from “Hawaii 5-0” have constantly used Microsoft products, including Bing and Windows Live SkyDrive.

Product placement is becoming bigger and bigger in the TV business. In fact, research indicates that it has grown by around 22 percent in the past four years; and it shows no signs of stopping.

It’s surprising to see Microsoft on television though. Its rival, Apple, is more renowned for investing in product integrations. The brand has a long-term product placement program—that’s why you typically see its products in movies and television shows.

The integration scores well for Microsoft since its appearance connote cutting-edge tech usage. After all, when cops are using Microsoft technologies to investigate crimes, it must be highly functional.
