Andrew Lansley, the health secretary, defended product placements in hospitals after some patients complained that the stitches they received resembled company logos.
“Advertisers pay a lot of money to reach people when they’re at a low ebb,” said Lansley.
He also mentioned that product placements for cleaning products, basic food, and Freeview television are getting more and more popular.
According to Lansley, product placements are now in high demand in hospitals.
While these product placements aren’t always done right, studies indicate that they can be effective.
Some of the advertising packages sponsor basic hospital equipment, like neck braces, crutches, and wheel chairs.
