Ever since the 1980s, Apple has always made itself a part of Hollywood’s glitz and glamour. The brand has been seen in so many film product placements, including Mission: Impossible, Legally Blonde, and Star Trek IV.
On some occasions, the tech products even took a central part in story development, like in You’ve Got Mail and Sex and the City.
AnyClip, a research company, recently calculated the ratio of Apple product placement appearances in films that it appeared. On some movies, the brand scored as low as 1%. In other films, Apple got as high as 33%.
While Apple has been more active in the film genre, tech manufacturers have always invested in these product placement opportunities. Nowadays, brands like HP, Dell, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony are commonly seen in movies.
Still, from a visual standpoint, Apple is definitely a standout. Its logo is easily recognizable to the consumer’s eye, making it a natural on-screen promotion.
