NBC’s primetime shows topped the product placement count of its broadcast rivals.
According to a recent study from Nielsen, the network owns four of the top ten heavily laden product placement shows. Some of the shows that helped NBC edge other programs are: The Biggest Loser, Friday Night Lights, Celebrity Apprentice, and America’s Got Talent.
Fox’s American Idol had the most product placement occurrences. ABC was led by Dancing with the Stars and Extreme Makeover, while CW and CBS were put in the list by America’s Next Top Model and The Amazing Race (respectively).
Nielsen, the research firm, also compiled a list of the most remembered brand integrations. The Big Bang Theory topped the list with Sheldon’s use of a Purell hand sanitizer. Apart from that instance, the show also had a memorable product integration featuring Twister and Dungeons & Dragons.
NBC also held its own with memorable product placements. Subway’s sponsorship of Chuck was on the list, as well.
