Product placement has found a home in NBC.
While the network has not been able to up ratings for advertisers, it has proven that it can put products in shows—and they did so effectively.
NBC airs four of the top 10 shows in terms of product placement, according to Nielsen research. These shows are: The Biggest Loser, Friday Night Lights, The Celebrity Apprentice, and America’s Got Talent.
No surprise: Fox’s American Idol scored the most product placements. ABC, on the other hand, made the list with Dancing with the Stars, Extreme Makeover, and the Amazing Race.
While occurrences matter, brand recall is fundamentally more important in product integrations. The shows that scored the most in terms of remembered brand integrations are The Big Bang Theory and Chuck.
