UK product placement to pick up in 2013

Reports claim that product placement has been slow in the United Kingdom. However, industry experts say that it’s expected to take off in 2013.

Last year, Ofcom loosened product placement rules and regulations. But since the initiation of the new rules, less than 20 placements have appeared on UK television.

Media experts say that UK product placement is still young. It still needs more evidence to back up its benefits. Once these are seen by advertisers, the industry should pick up.

According to studies, UK product placement will continuously increase its worth in the next five to six years.
