In Safe House, Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington go on an action-packed journey across South Africa, evading terrorists and double agents in the process. The film, which topped the box office, has numerous product placements.
Prominent product integration includes Apple and BMW. The iPhone was used by spy characters in the movie, while BMW cars and motorcycles were also in the silver screen.
Oddly enough, the main character used a beat down BMW to evade his enemies. Sources say that an older model was more appropriate for the chase scene, instead of a new model. A new model wouldn’t have been realistic for the scene.
Another product in the movie is South Africa. Stunning backdrops complement the scenes in the movie. The plot even takes us to Cape Town’s Green Point Stadium, where there was an ongoing FIFA World Cup match.
The South African tourist community believes that the movie will create interest for their nation.
